Governor Evers believes local governments need to be involved with improving race issues in the state.
Evers says he’s spent the past two weeks since George Floyd’s death, talking with community leaders.
He thinks it’s time for action, and not another task force. He’s looking forward to finding common ground with Majority Republicans in the Legislature to take steps.
Evers announced his support last week that sets statewide standards for police officers using force.
Evers says the state needs to make sure communities are safe and strong. He believes that goes beyond policing, and includes health care, housing, and education.
