The effects of a Sahara Desert storm are expected to be very minor in Wisconsin.
First Alert Chief Meteorologist Steve Beylon says it’s actually common for storms in Africa to stir up dust plumes from the Sahara Desert, and push them toward North America. But he says this is probably the largest one since the 1970s.
He thinks the Saharan dust could cause a redder sunrise and sunset on Saturday. Beylon says people with respiratory issues shouldn’t worry about air quality being impacted.
