Brown County’s leader wants people to use masks.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach says that’s a way to help stop the rise in COVID-19 cases they’re seeing. He thinks it’s something that should be talked about at the state level.
Right now, he’s encouraging everyone to wear a mask when they’re out in public.
Streckenbach says county officials have had internal talks about a mask order, but he doesn’t believe they can legally enforce it right now. He says the state group for public health officers, and Wisconsin Counties Association, are looking at how to fix the enforcement issue.
