A political science professor doesn’t think the federal court ruling will restrict the number of people that can vote.
Lawrence University Professor Arnold Shober says the core of the court’s ruling is how each party believes it can mobilize voters. He says Democrats think it helps them to be able to sign up voters later, and make it easier for them to vote. He says Republicans prefer to have voters plan ahead.
Shober predicts the U.S. Supreme Court won’t take up the case because justices already declined to take up a lawsuit over redistricting.
