Organizers of the Brown County Fair in De Pere are hoping to get support from city officials.
Fair Association President Steve Corrigan wants the fair to go on. He believes it’s important for the community, and the nonprofits that rely on it to raise money.
The De Pere city council will decide tonight whether to exempt the fair from the city’s phased reopening plan.
Mayor James Boyd feels it would be irresponsible for city leaders to give their blessing to the event, especially since the number of coronavirus cases is on the rise.
Corrigan says they would have proper sanitation, and social distancing guidelines.
