Green Bay could have a mask requirement.
Mayor Eric Genrich is announcing an emergency order, covering all buildings that are open to the public. It’s modeled after the ones in place in Milwaukee and Madison.
Genrich believes it’s the best way to deal with a jump in cases, and he’s acting on the recommendations of experts from local health systems.
Genrich hopes Brown County will put the same rule in place. He doubts police would arrest or ticket anyone not wearing a mask in public.
The Green Bay city council will vote on the mayor’s proposal tomorrow night.
