Governor Evers opposes plans by the Trump administration to send federal agents to Milwaukee.
He says he doesn’t want them in any city in Wisconsin.
They’ve been in Portland, Oregon, and the president wants to put them in five more cities.
Evers says he has “full faith and trust” in the people of Wisconsin, and police at the county and local levels. He believes amping up the federal presence would actually create more turmoil. He says people should have a chance to express their First Amendment rights, while doing it safely.
Evers says he sent a letter to the president this week, expressing his concerns.
