The DOT is starting a long-term project on bridges along I-41 in the Oshkosh and Green Bay areas.
Spokesman Mark Kantola says they were built during the expansions over the past several years. Now he says it’s time to put a thin, protective layer of polymer on top of the concrete.
He reports the polymer will extend the life of the bridges, and reduce maintenance costs.
There are 51 bridges around Green Bay, and eight in the Oshkosh area.
Kantola says they’ll try to do much of the work at night. There will be lane closures and a lower speed limit where crews are working.
The project is scheduled to be done in July of next year.
