Construction on the biggest solar energy project in the state is halfway done.
Wisconsin Public Service spokesman Matt Cullen says they’ve installed more than 250,000 panels on a former field in northern Manitowoc County. There will be 500,000 when the project is done.
Cullen says they’ll be able to power 33,000 homes using the Twin Creeks Solar Park.
He says the facility is part of the utility’s push to rely less on coal, and focus more on wind, solar, and natural gas.
