In a five to three vote, the De Pere City Council approves a mask mandate.
It won’t go into effect until after a meeting on August 4th. The law is based on the rule that went into effect on Monday in Green Bay and requires anyone five or older to wear a mask in public. Mayor James Boyd proposed the law. Alderman Dean Raasch is concerned a mask mandate would put businesses in an even more difficult position. The council will take an official vote on the issue August 4th.
