Profits are down significantly at the Oshkosh Corporation.
The company is reporting a net income of about $80 million in the third quarter, and that’s down 58 percent. Last year’s total for the same three months was nearly $192 million.
Oshkosh CEO Wilson Jones believes it was a good quarter, considering the market conditions in the U.S. and around the world.
Net sales fell 34 percent, in large part because of a 61 percent drop in the Access Equipment segment.
Oshkosh Corporation also announced an access equipment plant in Romania is closing permanently. That work will be moved to facilities in Pennsylvania and Mexico.
