Room tax collections are way down because of the pandemic, but the fund for the Fox Cities Exhibition Center is still in good shape.
There was about $2.5 million set aside for loan payments this spring.
Appleton Finance Director Tony Saucerman says they’re not panicking. He reports they have enough money to make the next two payments, in October and April of 2021. He says a reserve fund is available, if they need money for the October 2021 payment.
The October payment will be for $655,000, and the April one is $755,000.
Three percent of the revenue from the 10 percent room tax goes into the Exhibition Center fund, to pay off the construction loan.
