Over the weekend, Morrison Hotel Gallery and its partners presented (De)Tour, which featured an all-star lineup of artists working with with MusiCares, National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), and Spotify to support of fellow artists, crew members, and independent venues and promoters.
One the all-star collaborations involved Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, Linda Perry on vocals, guitarist Slash and Gilby Clarke, pianist Mike Garson, bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, and former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum performing The Beatles’ “Come Together”.
The video below also contains a version of AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N’ Roll)” with Lzzy Hale, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, Gilby Clarke, Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, and Matt Sorum.
The purpose of (De)Tour was to honor and assist music’s unsung heroes. The show asked for donations through YouTube Live and Facebook Live, while Spotify matched those donations to MusiCares dollar-for-dollar up to $10 million through its COVID-19 Music Relief project. All proceeds will be split between MusiCares and NIVA. Spotify also created a special (De)Tour playlist featuring songs from the performers.
