The owners of the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh may lose their naming rights deal.
The Menominee Indian tribe is formally objecting to the reorganization plan from Fox Valley Pro Basketball.
The tribe points out it never had a formal contract to have its name on the building. They’ve been working off a letter of intent dating back to October of 2017, and it called for the tribe to pay $90,000 a month.
The Menominee claim Fox Valley Pro Basketball shouldn’t include that revenue in its reorganization plan, because they’re not legally obligated to continue paying it.
The filing in federal bankruptcy court mentions the two sides are continuing to negotiate on a formal naming rights contract.
