The number of new COVID-19 cases has gone down in Appleton for the past two weeks.
Public Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht warns there’s still a high risk of catching the virus, but he thinks it’s important to reward the community for the work everyone is doing.
He says it hasn’t been too long since the state’s mask mandate took effect, but he thinks it’s making a difference. Eggebrecht hopes the numbers will continue to trend in the right direction.
It had been two months since Appleton had a slight decline in weekly cases.
