The chair of the Republican Party of Outagamie County believes the actions of some protesters Monday night were about trying to keep people quiet, and intimidate them.
Mark Albert was in the office along College Avenue when people surrounded the building. Police say the protesters were threatening the people inside, and damaging property.
The SWAT team showed up to get the GOP volunteers out of the building, and drive them to a safe place.
Albert says the intimidation has no place in the country, and especially Appleton.
The party’s office was closed yesterday.
