Five Red Cross volunteers from northeast Wisconsin have been in the Louisiana area since yesterday, getting ready for Hurricane Laura.
Steve Hansen is the executive director for the local chapter, and he says most of their five volunteers will provide food, shelter, and mental health services. He expects more volunteers from Wisconsin will be sent to the area.
Hansen says about 300 people went to Texas after Hurricane Harvey hit. He’s not sure they’ll reach that number this time.
