A top Republican in the Assembly believes the additional federal funding President Trump is promising for Kenosha and the rest of Wisconsin will be incredibly important.
The president is providing $42 million to support law enforcement statewide, add more prosecutors, and provide programs for crime victims.
Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroek says the extra money is coming at a time state revenues are below the original projections, because of the pandemic. He says the funding for prosecutors is important, because it will help reduce the workloads of assistant district attorneys.
