The chances of Appleton school district students returning to classrooms aren’t looking good right now, with a spike in coronavirus cases in the city.
The city set weekly records for case counts over each of the past three weeks.
Superintendent Judy Baseman says the virus is widespread in the community right now. She hopes people will take the necessary steps to prevent the spread, so they can return to in-school learning.
Baseman says they are making progress with staffing levels, and their pool of substitute teachers. The school board shifted to all online learning before the school year started.
