A man is going to prison for 16-1/2 years for a shooting in a downtown Appleton bar that left a bystander dead.
Prosecutors say 36-year-old Henry Nellum of Milwaukee fired at least one shot, during a fight with a man at Jack’s Apple Pub in May of 2017. They say Police Lt. Jay Steinke came into the bar and accidentally shot a bystander, 33-year-old Jimmy Sanders of Milwaukee.
They reported Steinke was being pushed by people, while he was firing at Nellum.
Nellum was convicted earlier this year on charges of felony murder and reckless endangerment. He’ll also spend 12-1/2 years on probation, after he’s released from prison.
