A doctor says Halloween will have to be different this year to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The CDC is asking people not to go trick-or-treating, door-to-door.
Dr. Matthew Theado is a pediatrician for Bellin Health, and he says there are risks. He says parents have to make sure everyone around their children isn’t sick, and that people answering doors at homes aren’t sick. He thinks that’s putting a lot of faith in others.
Theado recommends finding safer activities, outdoors with social distancing. He says when kids put on their costumes, they should have a mask on, even if they’re wearing a plastic costume mask. He says they could incorporate their mask into their costume.
Theado says indoor haunted houses are probably a bad idea.
