Normally when you hear about a ‘marriage proposal gone wrong on bridge‘ you, (at least I) immediately think that someone dropped the ring in the water. Plop! goes the Proposal.
In the below case, it wasn’t the groom or bride-to-be that messed up but the photog and bicyclist that ruined the moment.
First of all, if you’re going to make your proposal a ‘public thing’ you should expect that something is going to happen you have no control over, like… I don’t know… a bike vs pedestrian accident?
The proposal took place on the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC. As the guy is on bended knee popping the question, one of his photographers (couldn’t be much of a surprise to the bride-to-be w/ a full camera crew in tow, right?) gets caught up in the moment and forgets that he’s on a very busy throughway and walks into the path of a cyclist. Luckily the guy on the bike slowed down, but still came off the bike. And the guy filming seems concerned that the bike ruined the edit of the special moment. No, you ruined it by staging the moment in the middle of traffic. Public Marriage Proposal ranks just behind gender reveal in terms of look-at-me social media narcissism
But congrats to the happy couple nonetheless.
