A nonprofit that works to get men involved to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault had to call off its biggest event.
For a decade, Voices of Men has held a large community breakfast that has drawn about 1,000 men and teenage boys to downtown Appleton.
The group hopes supporters will donate to four organizations instead. They’re the Sexual Assault Crisis Center, Reach Counseling in Neenah, Harbor House in Appleton, and Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services in Oshkosh.
Alex Hummel of Voices of Men tells AM Fox Valley those nonprofits were the founders of Voices of Men.
Hummel says they weren’t able to put together a virtual event this year, in place of the breakfast.
