Republicans now want a full federal appeals court to take up a case over absentee ballots.
A three-judge panel of the 7th Circuit Court unanimously upheld a federal judge’s decision earlier this week.
The ruling means local clerks can count absentee ballots, if they arrive in the mail, up to six days after Election Day. They need to be postmarked by Election Day.
Majority Republicans in the Legislature, the state GOP party, and the Republican National Committee could also take their appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
