Prosecutors are clearing a Black police officer in the shooting death of a Black teenager in the Milwaukee area.
The Milwaukee County district attorney ruled Wauwatosa Officer Joseph Mensah was justified.
Seventeen-year-old Alvin Cole was killed outside of Mayfair Mall in February. Police say he was running from officers, and he shot at them first. Cole’s family doesn’t think he fired the gun.
Cole was the third person Mensah shot and killed in the past five years. Prosecutors also determined the previous two were justified.
