The city of Oshkosh projects a drop of one-point-one million dollars in room taxes for 2021. Finance Director Russ Van Gompel says that won’t mean enough money to pay the debt on the Downtown Convention Center without dipping into reserve funds. Room taxes in Oshkosh also go toward the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Grand Opera House, and the Premier Best Western hotel for operating the convention center.
