If you were watching MTV back in 1984 when the music television stations still played, you know, music, you probably remember their Win a Weekend with Van Halen contest. I clearly remember how wild they made it sound that weekend would be. I also remember laughing to myself thinking how exaggerated and overblown those claims were. Having read this article from VULTURE.COM, I have to admit I was wrong. If anything, the madness the contest promised paled by comparison to the reality. Give the article to read for yourself.
