Was no one available to proof these signs?
Ferry passengers in Vancouver, British Columbia were treated to new βeye-catching signageβ to promote its mandatory mask policy aboard vessels. But the message was lost due to the phallic imagery passengers are seeing.
As you can see below, the mask straps and the ear form what many are seeing as male genitalia (penis) and once you see it β you canβt unsee a very subliminal message of floating your boat while floating on a boat.
Honestly, when putting up public awareness signs like these, you want them to be eye-catching to convey a specific message clearly but message and image need to work together to express the correct message otherwise it gets lost at sea.
