The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of stolen mail.
Several checks have been taken from mailboxes along Lakeshore Drive and Faro Springs Road in the town of Harrison in recent weeks and then fraudulently cashed.
Those who may have tried to mail checks should confirm that the proper parties received them.
“If you placed outgoing checks or mail in your mailbox, please verify that they made it to it’s destination and that the checks were appropriately cashed,” reads a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office.
You are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office if your checks or mail have gone missing.
