A Green Bay area man held a butcher knife and a baby during an armed standoff with Fond du Lac County deputies last night.
The standoff began after a 14 mile high speed chase on Highway 151 near Highway 23.
The suspect’s car crashed on Highway 175 and Highway 49 and that’s when the suspect got out of the car holding a baby and a butcher knife. SWAT negotiators spoke with the suspect, and the woman in the car with him, for several hours before he surrendered.
The woman and baby were taken to safety. No one was hurt. Two squad cars were damaged.
