Bare Bones Brewery in Oshkosh is about to release one of the strongest beers ever made by one of the city’s breweries if not the entire state.
This Friday April 2nd, Inoculator 24.8 will be available in their taproom on a limited basis as part of the brewery’s Unleashed series of experimental beers. The number stands for the alcohol content of the beer (24.8% ABV, or “alcohol by volume) which at that level is uncommon for a normal beer. To put it in perspective, most of the higher-alcohol stouts available are 10-12% ABV on average while a Bud Light clocks in at 4.2% ABV. Due to the limited availability and high alcohol content, Bare Bones Brewery will only allow patrons one five-ounce glass of the beer.
Although Inoculator 24.8 has an extremely high alcohol content, other breweries have released beers with ABVs that are even higher. Samuel Adams regularly puts out Utopia which is aged for 24 years and boasts a 28% ABV.
