Two former Wisconsin Republican Congressmen support an effort that could see the formation of a break-away third party. Reid Ribble and Tom Petri are among 100 G-O-P members signing on to a letter to the Republican National Committee demanding that the party turn away from former President Donald Trump and back to its traditional ideals. The “Call For American Renewal” cites the rise of far-right populism in the party as a threat to the future of America. They claim that if Republican leaders don’t back moderate candidates, they will leave to form their own party in 2024.
