As expected, Republicans in the Legislature gavel in and gavel out of a special session called by Governor Tony Evers to expand the BadgerCare program. Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says the continued opposition to the plan has nothing to do with economics. The Governor’s proposal would have made the state eligible for an additional one-billion dollars in pandemic relief from the American Rescue Plan. It would have added 91-thousand more people to the BadgerCare program.
