The Court of Appeals District II is reversing the conviction of a convicted sex offender saying words matter.
The court says Sheboygan Police Detective Eric Edison made a constitutional misrepresentation of Daniel Rejholec’s rights under the Fifth Amendment. Records say the detective told Rejholec he wasn’t going to get a chance to tell his story to a jury if he didn’t tell it to him. Rejholec gave incriminating statements after that. He pleased no contest to a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child and was sentenced to 12 yrs in prison.
