Looks like we’re going to re-visit the past before we blast off to infinity… and beyond.
Disney / Pixar just dropped a teaser trailer for ‘Lightyear’ – the origin (toy) story for Buzz Lightyear.
With a pitch-perfect sampling of David Bowie’s ‘Starman‘ providing the soundtrack to this origin story it looks like Pixar has captured lightning… er … Lightyear in a bottle or rocket once again.
The official synopsis from Disney/Pixar:
The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Disney’s Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans. Chris Evans lends his voice to Buzz Lightyear. Annie Award-winning director and veteran Pixar animator Angus MacLane, who co-directed 2016’s “Finding Dory,” helms “Lightyear.” Galyn Susman (“Toy Story That Time Forgot” short) produces.
The countdown is on to Disney and Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’ – blasting off June 17, 2022.
