Well here’s a twist on the tried, true and traditional Christmas Light House Hanging Accident trope.
Y’know that ol’ chestnut… the one where the person hanging the lights on the house is on a ladder and slips. The ladder then gets kicked away and falls to the ground – most of the time immediately followed by the person. Gravity always wins.
This is not that scenario. Instead the person on the ladder is the one that is safer on their lofty perch than the helper situated on terra firma.
A husband and wife from La Porte, Texas, are hanging Christmas lights on their house when the husband asks the wife to stretch the lights out as to properly untangle them for proper display… and that’s where the story turns.
The wife is the one who falls as she backs up and trips over a picnic table in the yard.
She seems to think he didn’t properly warn her of the impending danger commenting on the YouTube video, “My husband was hanging Christmas lights and watched me as I walked backwards into a picnic table causing me to fall.”
It may be warm in Texas but Christmas is off to a chilly start at one home.
