We are proud to name as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show Weenies of the Week… 38-year-old Wayne Waukechon and his girlfriend 29-year-old Vanessa Cooper who led Green Bay police on a chase about 7:30 Sunday morning that ended with authorities capturing them IN the East River.
It all started with officers responding to a call reporting a man and woman passed out in a car at Bay Beach Shell gas station right after the caller saw the two “popping pills”.
When they arrived, police spotted a piece of tinfoil they believed was being used to smoke drugs. After authorities knocked on the window and woke both Waukechon and Cooper, he backed up and pulled out of the parking lot.
When Waukechon backed up, he reportedly smacked a patrol car and a chase then ensued. Waukechon reportedly reached speeds of up to 75 mph, ignoring stop signs and lights and even drove on the wrong side of the road.
According to the criminal complaint the chase started at Radisson Street in wound its Way through the streets of Green Bay finally ending up at Pine Street where Waukechon and Cooper reportedly jumped out of their vehicle and ran towards the East River and both jumped in and tried swimming across it.
Waukechon and Cooper refused to get out of the river, eventually clinging to a branch where he reportedly pulled out a small, clear plastic bag apparently containing a white or crystal powder and both he and Cooper began snorting it in front of police before being taken into custody.
Waukechon later told an officer that taking the drugs “gives him ‘super powers’” and said he has NO memory of driving the vehicle or jumping in the river.
So,
For finding themselves both in the East River and up the proverbial creek at the same time.
For doing the dumbest thing with crystal since Pepsi made it into a soda.
And for jumping in the East River, as though there’s not already enough trash in it.
We are proud to name Wayne Waukechon and Vanessa Cooper, the Alleged East River Eluders of Green Bay as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show…Weenies of the Week!
