The Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar took to Instagram to name his 5 favorite songs to play live with his band The Circle. The list includes a new song, a couple of Hagar classics, and yes one Van Halen song that according to Sammy gets a funkier spin than the way it was originally recorded. Hagar says the other members of The Circle — Michael Anthony, Vic Johnson and Jason Bonham — will soon list their favorite songs.
Below is that full list along with some words from Sammy and the orginal versions of the songs.
5) “Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy” – May be the happiest, most fun sing-along song I’ve ever written and The Circle kills it.”
4) “Crazy Times” – “Always great playing a new song especially when it’s sooo good and fun to play.”
3) “Three Lock Box” – “I get to jam out on guitar for as long as I want and then have a battle of the axes with Mikey. You can’t get more off the hook than that.”
2) “Finish What Ya Started” – “I wanted the fun songs to play and sing, and The Circle puts a very funky spin on it.”
1) “Eagles Fly” – “It always seems to bring out a lot of love from the audience and the sing-along is a goosebumps moment for me.”
