Saturday night what is the 2022 Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. It concluded, as it frequently does, with a jam featuring the some of the new inductees and some of their inductors. Despite her initial protestations, Dolly Parton was one of the inductees and the jam concluded with Dolly being joined by none other than Judas Priest’s Rob Halford and damn near everybody else singing Jolene. Inductees Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Annie Lennox of Eurythmics, Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran also joined inductors Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Pink, in the Zac Brown Band.
For me, it was all about Rob with his arm around Dolly showing that if heavy-metal and country music can come together, then why can’t the rest of us?
Can’t wait to see (and hear) the pro shot video of the entire induction ceremony on HBO November 19th.
