Maybe it was a ploy to use the HOV lane but when you’ve got a literal mountain of beer cans riding shotgun, it’s only a matter of time before the recycling (and real) police pull you over.
This happened during a routine (or poutine) stop in during a daytime R.I.D.E. stop in Ontario, Canada.
R.I.D.E. stands for “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere.” It is an Ontario sobriety program that was established in 1977 with the purpose of reducing the number of tragic accidents and injuries resulting from impaired driving. And it did it’s job perfectly. The resulting traffic stop was one for the R.I.D.E. records – at least where sheer volume of beer cans in a vehicle is concerned.
OPP (yeah you know me) West Region police tweeted out; “Sometimes we get asked “why do you conduct RIDE programs during the day?” – This is why. 61-year-old accused entered #GreyBruceOPP RIDE program at 5:23 p.m. Arrested for impaired operation, 8 driving related suspensions, property obtained by crime, and several HTA charges.“
Maybe he can pay for his fine by taking all those cans to the local recycler?
