A Yellowstone tourist (or tour-idiot in this case) learned a hard lesson – Don’t Stick a Camera in a Bison’s Face!
As detailed on the Instagram page TouronsOfYellowstone (tourist + moron = touron) which highlights bad behavior at US National Parks – a young woman decided that she was going to take a selfie with a bison that was standing near a path at Yellowstone National Park. This was a bad decision as the bison was already clearly agitated and the resulting fall the tourist took off the walkway was embarrassing but not deadly. One would hope that a lesson was taught… but I’m not holding my breath.
The National Park Service (NPS) warns visitors that bison have injured more people at Yellowstone National Park than any other animal, including bears and snakes.
Just last year, three people were gored by bison within a month, prompting Park Rangers to publish a poster imploring guests not to ‘pet the fluffy cows’.
