In 1979 Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS set out to write a “good” disco song. What they came up with was “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”.
While the song was something of a hit, reaching number 11 on the Billboard chart, it was reviled by a lot of hard-core KISS fans who thought their favorite band had sold out. Little did they know, Gene was about selling out from day one.
If they didn’t like a KISS song in the style of Donna Summer or the Bee Gees, I wonder what they’ll think of this reworked version of the tune by The Post Modern Jukebox designed to sound like the music of Ennio Morricone, who was best known for composing soundtracks for “spaghetti westerns” like Clint Eastwood’s, “The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly”. The track includes a vocal by American Idol stand-out Effie Passero.
Personally, I think it’s an improvement.
