KAUKAUNA, Wis–A Kaukauna police officer is involved in a shooting incident. The department says officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500-block of Diedrich Street around 8:05 last (Wednesday) night to attempt to locate a juvenile runaway with a stolen vehicle at that location. The runaway was believed to be with an adult man.
When officers attempted to make contact with the people in the vehicle, shots were fired. A 28-year old Oshkosh man was taken to the hospital, where he is stable. No other details on the incident have been released.
The Appleton Police Department is handling the investigation into the shooting. The officer has been placed on administrative leave.
