Before hitting the road for more concerts, Ozzy Osbourne has a particular goal in mind: recording an entirely new album.
According to Loudwire, in a recent update, the legendary rocker shared news of his successful spinal surgery and expressed his desire to create a fresh solo album by 2024. He also showed interest in returning to the stage to perform live, a plan that has faced challenges in recent years due to his health.
In an interview with Metal Hammer yesterday (September 26), Osbourne explained the difficulties that came with dealing with his various health complications saying, “I’ve had all the surgery now, thank God. I’m feeling OK. It was just dragging on. I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago; I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong.”
Although he is not yet able to walk properly, he shared how grateful he is that he is “not in pain anymore, and the surgery on my spine went great.”
So what is this talk of a new album? Osbourne shared his plans for the future saying, “I’m getting myself fit. I’ve done two albums fairly recently (2020’s Ordinary Man and 2022’s Patient Number 9) but I want to do one more album and then go back on the road.”
There have only been two instances that Osbourne has played live since his last tour in 2018, and since 2019 there have been several occasions where he needed to cancel shows. He dropped off of the tour with Judas Priest in February, revealing then that his touring days “have ended.”
