Former business executive and philanthropist Walter Rugland has died. An on-line obituary says Rugland passed away last Friday at the age of 86. He was a former Chief Operating Officer of Aid Association for Lutherans–which is now Thrivent–and was intrumental in the early days of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region. Funeral arrangements for Rugland have not been announced.
