Dicky Barrett spent decades as the lead singer of the legendary Ska band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Dicky has even been called “The Godfather of Ska-core” although as he tells us, that’s a name that he gave himself as a joke and the ska and punk community ran with it. Dicky now has a new band called The Defiant. The band features himself on vocals, Pete Prada formerly of the Offspring and Devo and Face to Face on drums. The band also has Smashmouth guitarist Greg Camp, Joey LaRocca of The Briggs, and Johnny Rioux on bass. This is classic-sounding punk rock done by some of the legends of the genre, and we’re here for it.
We do also catch up on him hosting the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show and we find out he gives guided tours at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas.
