Unless you’re still from the old school “it’s still real to me, dammit” crowd – you know professional wrestling is a wonderfully entertaining mélange of soap opera, circus, rock concert and athleticism.
But rarely does the general public (rubes/marks) get to see behind the curtain of that production…. until now.
An upcoming Netflix series called “WWE: Unreal” will lift the veil on what goes into the production of professional wrestling / sports entertainment.
Here is the official logline: “For the first time ever, step into the WWE writer’s room and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars, where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight.”
We’ve had plenty of reality shows dedicated to the business of pro wrestling but never one dedicated to the nuts and bolts of the operation.
“This is a calculated, coordinated production,” chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque says in the first teaser for the doc. “It’s time. We’re gonna lift the curtain.”
Oh Hell Yeah!
