Whether it’s liquor stores or fancy resort restaurants it’s safe to say that raccoons are having their time in the spotlight this week.
The scene played out at The Ristorante Brissago at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva.
A guest was enjoying a meal at the upscale resort when nature called (not like that) but in the form of a raccoon that made it’s way into the ceiling of the restaurant and crashed through in spectacular fashion.
A guest attempted (for whatever reason) to capture the “crash panda” and got bit for their efforts.
So then the experts were called in, in the person of Mark Snorek, proprietor of Guaranteed Gone Wildlife Control.
Snorek told Fox 6 News, “It was quite a large raccoon. So he was on it for the 25 minutes I was on the way there as this thing was brawling, scratching, hissing.”
Snorek said calls involving wildlife entering buildings are not uncommon, especially during extreme cold, “When it gets brutally cold like it was these last two days – it’s not uncommon to get these calls for raccoons going into a structure.”
Eventually through all the critter chaos the raccoon was taken to a local veterinary clinic and euthanized and is now being sent to Madison for rabies testing.
The guest was taken to the hospital.
