The upcoming sword and sorcery film is based on Mattel’s franchise of the same name.
It stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam / He-Man, who returns to his home planet Eternia, to save it from the evil forces of Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and Idris Elba also star.
The official summary:
Ten-year-old Adam Glenn (Nicholas Galitzine) crash-lands on his mother’s home planet Earth, separating him from his ancestor’s Power Sword of Grayskull. Two decades later, he takes his sword back and bears on the mantle of He-Man as he battles for his home planet, Eternia, against the evil forces of Skeletor (Jared Leto).
The film is directed by Travis Knight, from a script by Chris Butler, Aaron and Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham.
Masters of the Universe is scheduled to be released in the United States and Canada on June 5, 2026, by Amazon MGM Studios, and internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing International.
