Dogs can be trained in a myriad of tasks. From the basic ‘fetch’, ‘stay’, ‘shake’ to more complicated operations like search and rescue, drug detection and even life saving. But training your dog to purposely break the law is another thing all together.
A man in Catania, Italy trained his dog to litter.
Yep, litter.
He trained his dog to take his garbage bags and leave them down the street.
According to the web site Oddity Central: Surveillance cameras recorded the animal trotting up to a roadside, dropping plastic trash bags, and heading back home. But officials say the real culprit is the dog’s owner, who they believe trained the animal to dump garbage so the human wouldn’t be caught on camera.
Local police called the scheme “cunning and doubly unfair,” not only did it dirty the streets but it also exploited an unsuspecting, innocent pet.
The owner has now been fined – illegal dumping can cost offenders anywhere from 1,500 to 18,000 euros.
The dog was let off the hook or leash in this case.
Who’s a good boy? The dog.
